I had eyes everywhere, and yet it happened to me. Multiple times. They told me, “next time, make a diagonal with your body when opening the door to your building”, and a new pair of eyes grew on my left shoulder. They said, “didn’t you notice he was trying to forcefully kiss you from the way he was looking at you?”, and a new pair of eyes grew on my chest. Maybe four eyeballs in his face will be enough next time. They told me, “you should’ve noticed and immediately pushed his hand off your leg”, and a new pair of eyes grew on my right hand and on my stomach. I am now a terrorized monster, with eyes protruding from the meat on my body, everywhere. And it still wasn’t enough. I bear the signs. A woman who can avoid violence just by “taking precautions” doesn’t exist, and a woman who should take avoiding violence as a personal responsibility must not exist.
